At the end of the fourth quarter of 2024, 4,455 new deep tech startups were registered in Poland, which is a value similar to the previous year. Thenumber of existing deep tech companies increased by 2.7% to 53,129, and their share among all companies was 9.4%, which remains at a levelsimilar to the previous year. The largest increase in the number of deep tech startups compared to the previous year concerned service companiesfrom the software industry, which remain the largest group of entities. In the second place, these were also service companies, but related to thecreative industries (i.a. production of video recordings). Among industrial companies, the largest increase was recorded in companies producinggeneral and special-purpose machinery. The increases in the number of tech startups in 2024 had little impact on the number of existingcompanies. Among service companies, entities from the software industry continue to dominate (42.3% of high-tech service companies), operatingweb portals (10.8%) and dealing with software consulting (10.7%). Among industrial companies, cosmetics companies dominate (6.4% of deep techindustrial companies), manufacturers of specialized machinery (6.4%) and general-purpose machinery (5%). A significant decrease was recorded in manufacturers of medical equipment and devices, which decreased by almost 40%, reducing their share from 5.9% to 2.1% of all deep techindustrial companies!
